Sizzle Platter. Before first use wash cast iron with mild soap. Do not scour. Rinse in warm water. Coat with cooking oil and leave on low heat for 30 minutes. Wipe off excess oil. Always clean cast iron in hot soapy water and dry. If scouring is required, coat with a little oil prior to use, or if necessary pre-season the cast iron.Note: If food has a metallic taste, or if the cast iron becomes rusty, It simply needs re-seasoning. 1. Scrub with a scouring pad. 2. Wash with soap and water. 3. Dry thoroughly. 4. Coat inside of cast iron with unsalted fat. 5. Heat in a moderate oven for about one hour. 6. While hot, remove excess fat with a paper towel or dry cloth.
